About Michael

With 20 years’ experience in communications for major corporations, government, charities and media outlets, Michael’s work spans a wide range of sectors. From working as a journalist and editor with the BBC and national newspapers to advising policy makers, Michael understands the importance of stakeholder and media relations.

At Crest, Michael specialises in stakeholder engagement, enabling organisations to build their profile and develop positive relationships with those who are important to them – whether customers, staff, service users or the general public. He’s able to deliver strategic and effective communications to influence stakeholder attitudes, decisions and actions. As a father of three teenagers and a Fulham fan, Michael is an expert at nurturing relationships through challenging and changing times.



Key achievements

  • Worked closely with MPs, special advisers and civil servants as political correspondent/ home affairs editor for the Daily Mail.
  • Managed a team of 12 as chief press officer for UK Department of Health working closely with 10 Downing Street, Cabinet ministers and special advisers.
  • Handling undercover media investigations and major public inquiries for FTSE 100 public services company Serco.
  • Helped leading criminal justice charity build national and local political relationships to support business development and advocacy work.
