Who we are

We’re a purpose-driven team of experts dedicated to improving justice, policing and public safety. We do this through:

  • Our in-house think tank which does the hard thinking on crime and justice reform, publishing robust and independent research in timely, accessible reports.

  • Our consulting practice which quantifies complex problems, devises strategies and transforms services for clients across policing, the criminal justice system, and local or central government.

  • Our inquiries and reviews practice which provides specialist support to public inquiries and independent reviews examining incidents and issues across justice, public safety, health and social care, sport and other sectors.

Our team identifies and helps solve complex problems arising from crime, vulnerability and other social harms. We’re subject matter experts, and many of us have previously worked at the organisations and in the sectors we now serve. We bring expertise, real-world experience and a powerful sense of purpose to our mission - to make communities safer.

About the role

Crest Advisory has grown rapidly over the last ten years from less than 5 staff to over 50. As the business has grown, the scale and complexity of organisational finances has also increased. The business now holds up to 35 significant delivery contracts at any one time, and as well as employing over 50 permanent members of staff has a roster of associates who can be drawn upon to deliver client work. Work is fast paced and tight financial management is required to ensure the organisation operates as efficiently and effectively as possible.

We are looking to recruit a part-time CFO to job share with the current CFO who will be reducing hours and focussing on business growth and investment. The new CFO role will centre on overseeing the financial activities of the organisation as well as providing strategic financial insight and advice internally.

This role is part of the overall senior management team at Crest Advisory, involved in decision-making on the development of the whole organisation. Reporting to the CEO and board of directors, this role is crucial in the success of the business.

  • We have a diverse and inclusive culture: you’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs
